Candace may indeed be a horrible person in real life, but that doesn't mean that she isn't bringing uncomfortable facts and questions to the forefront.
When critics attack your character and not your argument, it usually means you're on to something.
After not wanting to rush to judgement because of the tragic circumstances, I have to admit to having unsettling vibes about Charlie Kirk's widow, starting with her obsessive vanity, tendency towards episodic spurts of performative theatrics, and an overall lack of genuineness. All that coupled with the fact that Erika Kirk got her public start on a schlocky reality series (Summer House) years ago is off-putting, given the enormousness of what she's in charge of now. For a devout Christian, she has a disturbing penchant for the spotlight - glam squad forever in tow.
Yeah, I gave her the benefit of the doubt too but there is too much weirdness. She doesn’t appear to be grieving at all. The reality tv show stuff is off putting. It doesn’t scream “good Christian woman.” I believe it was all an act, and she completed her assignment in snagging CK. Poor Charlie, he deserved better.
I personally didn't really follow Charlie Kirk. I knew of him, and from what I did see, he seemed like a moderate guy. He wasn't really my cup of tea because I am not really into all the Jesus stuff. To me, that is just outsourcing morality to authority rather than placing it where it belongs which is objective reason.
TPUSA was mostly focused on college campus discussions, and long ago I grew very tired of clueless entitled college brats who babble nonsense. The conversations never went anywhere, and quite frankly were just draining. And how many times do we need to belabor the point that the university system has failed, and deviated from its original purpose? It's just rage bait at this point demanding time from me I can't get back, so I tuned out.
There are things about Erika Kirk that give me that Tammy Fay Bakker vibe as well. However, that doesn't exactly give Candace Owens any credibility with me either. The second someone starts blaming the Jews/Zionists, repeating 1940s propaganda like she has, their credibility is shot.
As for Shapiro, I find him to be an arrogant prick, and am reminded why Ayn Rand actually hated libertarians.
The only thing I think of in regards Charlie's murder, are those poor children. They are in for a rough road ahead, and are being made to carry a burden of grief that no child should ever have to that's going to give them problems well into adulthood.
It's hard enough for adults who enter middle age, or even old age to have to bury a parent. And that's with the life experience behind you, and the ability to articulate your feelings, and understand what's going on. Now, imagine how difficult it is for a child who doesn't have all that in their favor.
I just hope those children get the love and support that they need, and that they are going to need down the road.
Like you, I am not into the Christian right stuff, but I did see enough of the videos to notice that he was making a difference in simply asking these college kids to state their political position and then asking them how they go to it? He was effective. But I was shocked at the murder. Still shook by it.
Erika does give off Tammy Faye vibes for sure. She is a plant for sure. She looks delighted to have the spotlight all to herself. Creepy
I'm also old enough to remember the whole Tammy Fay Bakker ordeal. And when Sam Kinison did his bit about Jim Bakker. So that's why I think your observation there is pretty spot on as I see it too.
Unfortunately, hierarchies tend to attract and reward the worst kinds of people.
I agree that Charlie Kirk was good at talking to people, and he seemed sincere. I'm sure had he and I ever met, we would have gotten along as individuals, in spite of us both sharply disagreeing on creationism.
And I think he was effective at what he did, which I do think had everything to do with his assassination. And also why the left started putting words in his mouth that he never said after his death when he could no longer defend himself.
I have a friend who follows Candace and has promoted the dark Erica Kirk version of events. It's pretty dark if it's true. Like 3-hour blockbuster movie dark. Or 12-episode limited series dark.
Charlie Kirk and I graduated from the same high school. There's video footage of him in the same halls where I lurked in my Levi's Big Bells 28/34 with eyebrow pencil drawn around my eyes a la Theda Bara.
He came off as an earnest guy. Imagine promoting marriage and family and all else -- then your wife betrays you like that?
My friend directed me to a video that slows down the fatal shot. Kirk's shirt billows before he crumples. Claims that there's no way a gun could have done that, although the Trump attempt seems similar.
Still, why take Kirk out? Regardless of conflict with Israel. Who wins with him out? Or do you think his wife wanted him out so that she could take over the TPUSA empire?
And what about Tyler Robinson? Is he still in prison awaiting trial?
But the real burning question is: What is it with Christian women, make-up masks, brassy hair, fake smiles, and terrible clothes? I met one at a TFP debate last Thursday. Tammy Faye Baker's doppelganger. I don't get that at all.
I stopped watching Candace around the time of Macron is a man and something else -- I forget. I just lost interest. And I believed that she was going too far with Charlie Kirk. But...maybe not. There are a lot of questions, that's for sure.
And if his friends and family did this to him -- again -- it's so damned dark I just...
I didn't really follow Charlie Kirk. I knew of him but I didn't know him. I watched videos of him after he was assassinated. I thought he was a pretty reasonable guy. I didn't get the criticisms.
As for her, well I really don't know. I've met a lot of women who were dishonest so I can't say. Like you said, the truth will come out in the end.
All Erika Kirk has to do is be completely transparent and honest with the public. She has chosen not to do so. Candace Owens is putting forth some very interesting information. Candace is very good at what she is doing. Makes me glad that she doesn't know me.
Last week there were scores of "influencers" that all referred to Candace as a "demon" or evil over the same 48 hour period. It seems like they were obviously instructed to do so, and probably paid... although of course they all deny it. Here's a good article on it: https://www.ibtimes.co.uk/candace-owens-tpusa-feud-1781736
I agree that something is “off” with Erika Kirk. However, I don’t really trust Candace Owens either; she seems like a sensationalist, a scandal-monger.
At first she would have been in shock for Charlie's murder and its method were certainly shocking.
As to Tyler Robinson acting alone, possibly...probably but I think he got a "push" from somewhere. The audit Charlie wanted then Ericka cancelled is suspicious. I knew nothing of TPUSA before either, it being focused on an age cohort and demographic [colleges] with which I have no direct contact.
I think she's not AOC dumb but not brilliant and is being used...perhaps now willingly. People can convince themselves of all sorts of things that aren't true.
As to Candace Owens, we part company there. I am in no way anti-Semitic. I will make no apologies for any who are. The opinions of such people even on other issues is suspect to me as are those who harbor any other such bigotry.
The US is home o the largest population of Jews outside of Israel in this world. So yes, they have influence and pay people to wield it. But they pay less for that than Muslims who have infiltrated all our institutions, too. As have ChiComs.
Back to Ericka and TPUSA. I believe the mission as Charlie saw it and advanced it was as pure and sincere as a human can make anything we do. But any large org will be infiltrated by those with baser ambitions. I will lump them together as "Leftists" for the vast majority are ideologically aligned on many issues with that political side. Not that any scum inside is advancing political agendas....likely some are just greedy for money and power.
I had never heard of Charlie Cook, until he was assassinated. Then I was introduced to her, as JD was feeling her up as they hugged at an event.
Hey them Fundamentalist Christians be sending her organization millions. A "righteous" rake for their Jeffrey Hunter Jesus movement. Got to keep that stupid money coming in.
Candace IS evil. So is Ben Shapiro, Dave Rubin and the rest of Conservative Inc. Charlie and maybe Brett VCooper were the only ones that don’t give me “vibes”.
I’d like to cut Erika slack too… but she sets off my bush radar too. I get that such a traumatic event could scramble a woman’s brains and some erratic and inappropriate behaviour might result… but there is something else in play.

Yeah, I wouldn’t turn my back if E. Kirk’s around. Just curious: who are the paid-off podcasters?

Well if you want Candace in your life I really don't need you in mine.
Conspiracy theory wrapped in gas lighting and virtue signaling is no way to go through life Nancy.
You're better than this
Sorry, but I can’t even read this in good faith. You are taking bits and pieces and forming a conspiracy just like wacko Candace.
Ruth, we don't have to agree on everything.
That’s true.
At first she would have been in shock for Charlie's murder and its method were certainly shocking.

I agree with some of what you say. We can agree to disagree. I appreciate you commenting.
